Albemarle has returned to sponsor the annual SWAS fun run for a second year, with workers at the company’s Kemerton lithium processing plant set to join family, friends and the community at the popular event.
Registrations are now open for the affordable and family-friendly fun run with enthusiasts and serious runners alike encouraged to secure their place.
Albemarle Kemerton senior community relations advisor Erin van Noort said the company and its growing workforce were an active part of the community and the fun run was a great example of this.
“We are growing our community investment in the South West and are proud to support events like the South West Academy of Sport’s community fun run for another year,” she said.
“The fun run is a great example of supporting an event where our workers can participate by competing or volunteering while supporting an important event in our community’s calendar.”
Taking place on Saturday March 11, along the picturesque Ridley Place Australind Foreshore, the fun run includes multiple categories to suit walkers and runners of all ages and levels.
Participants can choose from 10km run, 5km run and 5km walk categories. There is also a special 2km category that allows juniors to have a go.
“It doesn’t matter whether you are young or old – this community event has something for everyone,” SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion said.
“We encourage you to register for the ninth annual fun run – we look forward to seeing you on the day.”
