Time running out to apply for latest round of scholarships

Jun 18, 2022 | Individual Athlete, News

Talented athletes, including those with a disability, who want the chance to be part of the South West Academy of Sport’s Individual Athlete Support Program (IASP) have until this Saturday April 30 to apply for a scholarship.

With a reputation for providing strong support to young sports men and women on their journeys to higher representative levels, the program is popular with teenagers 15-to-18 years wanting to pursue careers in sport.

A holistic approach is taken to the development of individuals including assistance in the daily training environment.

Examples of the type of support available include meeting training costs, specialised coaching, strength and conditioning services, nutrition assessment, athlete career and education, and access to a sport psychologist and physiotherapist.

The IASP caters for those whose sport is not covered by the SWAS partner programs of Australian Rules football, cricket, netball and hockey.

Applicants must have endorsement from their respective sports association to apply.
