Support Allows Triathlete to Perform at His Best

Sep 7, 2023 | Athlete Story, News, Triathlon

South West Academy of Sport triathlete Connor Fraser is having a massive 2023 — and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Earlier this year, Connor was recognised as runner up junior Triathlete of the Year (men’s 14-15 years old) at the 2022-23 Triathlon Western Australia annual awards evening in Perth.

But for all of the victories and sustained success, Connor, a Bunbury Catholic College student, is equally satisfied about being a part of the academy.

“It’s a real privilege to be with SWAS,” he said.

“There are a lot of components involved with it and some of which, people may not know, so it’s really good to be included in it. “The strength and conditioning testing is really good and beneficial for training, along with the health education and resources.” With a new season fast approaching, the Gelorup-based teenager is keen to take his show on the road.

“I want to travel,” he said.

“There are a couple of races I’ve got my eye on over in the Eastern States. One is in QLD and the other is in the ACT. I feel good performances in both events is an achievable goal.”
