Community spirit, fitness & teamwork
Be among the first 100 to sign up for this year’s SWAS-Telstra Fun Run and Relay and you’ll receiver a free event singlet.
The giveaway is one of a handful of exciting new initiatives that are set to add to the appeal of the fun-filled event, which will return bigger and better on Saturday March 18.
This time around, participants will also benefit from cash prizes and electronic timing.
SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion encouraged runners and walkers of every age to start warming up to compete.
“This is an event that has something for everyone,” she said.
“The whole family can participate, and it’s a great team-building activity for businesses and organisations.
“There will also be a special prize for the school with the most entrants.”
This year’s SWAS-Telstra Fun Run and Relay will have categories for both teams and individuals, and is open to everyone.
“We’re trying to promote a healthy and active community,” Butlion said.
Funds raised will go towards SWAS programs that support aspiring young athletes in the region.
