Sign up for the SWAS Wespine Fun Run
Is your new year’s resolution to get fit? Maybe even participate in a fun run?
If so, why not sign up to take part in the SWAS Wespine Fun Run being held in Bunbury on Saturday March 14.
Entries are now open for the annual all-ages and all-abilities event which each year sees both enthusiasts and serious competitors walk and run their way around the Leschenault Inlet.
There are cash prizes up for grabs in a number of junior and senior categories including the 10km run, 5km run, and 5km walk.
There is also a special 2km run for school students who want to experience the achievement of competing in a fun run, with the school with the most entries scoring $500.
A family entry is available at a discounted rate to ensure affordability for parents and their children wanting to compete in the same event.
Wespine managing director Patrick Warrand said he was excited Wespine is partnering with the South West Academy of Sport to make the upcoming event possible.
“Taking time out of our busy schedules for fun family activities is so important in assisting communities to become stronger, healthier and happier,” Mr Warrand said.
“I encourage everyone to take part in this wonderful event.”
SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion said it was fantastic to have Wespine on board as a sponsor for the first time this year.
“SWAS is fortunate to enjoy the support of the local business community, and it’s great to have Wespine on board to help make this year’s fun run possible,” Ms Butlion said.
“Our event is growing each year in popularity as more and more families including young runners take part.
“I look forward to seeing an even bigger crowd on its mark at the Leschenault Inlet – opposite the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre – on March 14.
“Every finisher will obtain a medal for completing the various distances.”
