Put them in the running for this year's Wally Foreman award
The search is on for the South West’s coach of the year.
Locals are being asked to put forward the names of coaches who they think deserve to win the 2018 Wally Foreman award.
The prestigious award is each year presented to one individual in the community for their outstanding contribution and commitment to sport in the region.
The accolade is named after the late Wally Foreman, a sports administrator and commentator who was asked by Bunbury business identity Rolf Stene to carry out the feasibility planning for the South West Academy of Sport.
SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion said the award winner would be announced at the academy’s annual awards dinner in December.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to shine the spotlight on a local coaching hero who has put in the time and effort behind the scenes to help others achieve excellence,” Butlion said.
“This is your chance to reward someone who has contributed to the community through sport.”
The SWAS annual awards dinner will be held at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on Friday December 7.
