Annual awards night this Friday

Top junior athletes and outstanding local coaches will be recognised at the South West Academy of Sport’s biggest ever awards night on Friday.

More than 180 people are expected to attend the glittering ceremony to see first-hand who will take out this year’s honours.

The winners of a number of prestigious prizes including the Sports Star of the Year and Wally Foreman awards will be revealed at the glittering ceremony.

As well as the award presentations, there will also be addresses by Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray and SWAS chairman Charles Jenkinson.

Australian hockey player Ashleigh Nelson will be the night’s guest speaker.

Past and present SWAS athletes Louis Asser, Connor Lambert and Bradley Linfield will join Australian track cyclist Courtney Field for a panel discussion.

The SWAS awards dinner will be held this Friday December 1 at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre.
