Secures WAIS scholarship
Hard work and dedication is paying off in a big way for rising netball star Jessica Repacholi.
The teenager is reaping the rewards of her commitment and positive mindset, with a number of exciting new opportunities opening up that will allow her to progress a promising netball career.
The 16-year-old South West Academy of Sport athlete was recently named in the inaugural nine-strong West Coast Fever Academy and awarded a West Australian Institute of Sport scholarship.
“It’s the next step on the pathway,” Repacholi said.
The Australind resident is already noticing an improvement to her on-court performance, which she puts down to receiving specialised training.
She says the synergies between SWAS and WAIS work well, allowing her to receive high-performance training in the region she calls home.
“SWAS helps a lot with WAIS,” she said.
“I don’t have to travel as much.”
Repacholi, who recently attended a training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, was selected to receive a WAIS scholarship following an impressive stint at this year’s 17/U national championships.
