Can count making the 17/U Australian squad among her achievements
Doors are opening for promising local netball talent Jessica Repacholi who has returned home from the 17/U national championships with an invitation to attend a training camp at the Australian Institute of Sport.
The opportunity to further develop her skills came after national selectors took notice of the impressive young sports woman at the tournament in Canberra last month and named her in the 17/U Australian squad.
The South West Academy of Sport athlete, who attends Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School, helped to push her West Australian team to a top four finish at the carnival.
“It was a really good experience. The competition was really tough, but we held our own,” Repacholi said.
Now back in WA, the 16-year-old Australind resident is looking forward to making the trip east again for the high-performance camp in September.
The camp is considered an opportunity to progress into the elite netball pathway in Australia, edging Repacholi closer to her goal of perhaps one day playing for West Coast Fever.
Participants in the camp will have the opportunity to develop their playing position, attack and defence skills, and match-play knowledge.
A New Zealand representative side will also join the camp, exposing athletes to international competition.
