Named in the Western Sting squad
It’s shaping up to be a big year for Australind teenager Giselle Taylor, who will juggle budding netball and modelling careers with Year 12 studies throughout 2019.
The 17-year-old, who capped off 2018 in fine style when she was crowned the South West Academy of Sport’s Team Female Athlete of the Year in a glittering gala ceremony in December, is looking forward to an exciting 12 months.
The sharp shooter has been selected to the Souwest Jets open team for the second consecutive year, and named in both the 19U state team and Western Sting squads.
Her latest achievements bring the SWAS athlete closer to her goal of one day being signed to West Coast Fever or one of the Suncorp Super Netball teams, and ultimately the Australian Diamonds.
Taylor, who represented WA at the 17/U netball championships last year, said she enjoyed both the challenge of playing netball and friendships she made along the way.
“I like the challenge of learning new skills and the disciple of the game,” Taylor said.
