Enter fun run today!

Students who compete in this month’s SWAS-Telstra Fun Run and Relay will put their school in the running to win a prize.

The primary or high school with the most entrants in the race around Bunbury’s Leschenault Inlet on Saturday March 18 will be rewarded by Telstra.

South West Academy of Sport chief executive officer Bernice Butlion encouraged students to get active by participating in the third annual community event.

“Kids are encouraged to enter the fun run to show their community spirit and enjoy physical activity which is so important for a healthy lifestyle,” she said.

“The academy hopes to inspire them about SWAS and how they too can one day potentially benefit from being part of SWAS programs.

“It is also a good opportunity to compete against other schools and individuals.”

People of all ages and athletic ability are invited to take part in the SWAS-Telstra Fun Run and Relay, which is designed to promote teamwork, fitness and community spirit.

Open to both individuals and teams, there are walking and running categories available.

Cash prizes will be presented to those who cross the finish line first in each division.

All funds raised will go to SWAS, which aims to provide development opportunities in the region for local teenagers excelling in sport.
