Founding sponsor a valued part of the SWAS team
Sponsors are among the most valued players at the South West Academy of Sport, allowing the not-for-profit organisation to deliver talent development programs that nurture future stars.
And among the academy’s most dedicated supporters is Doral Mineral Sands, a founding sponsor which has been backing SWAS since the academy got off the starting blocks in 2008.
SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion said the academy appreciated the support received from the company over the past 12 years.
“Doral has long been a valued part of the SWAS team and we look forward to continuing this important relationship as we assist more junior athletes to reach their potential on and off the field,” Butlion said.
Doral community relations officer Lauren Johnston said Doral valued the opportunity to support and work with local communities.
“Doral aims to create value for the benefit of the wider community by supporting initiatives in community health and education,” Johnston said.
“SWAS is an important sporting organisation that provides opportunities for our region’s developing athletes across the South West region.
“We are proud to be a supporter of SWAS. It meets our key focus in supporting youth in sport which helps build healthy communities.”
SWAS takes a holistic approach to assisting young athletes in the region to reach their potential by providing access to high performance training and coaching along with support services.
Programs are provided in Australian Rules football, hockey and netball, with an Individual Athlete Support Program assisting athletes not covered by the three partner sport programs.
