Athletes face not only physical challenges in their pursuit of sporting excellence, but also mental ones.
In recognition of this, the South West Academy of Sport assists young sports men and women to stand the best chance of success on the sports field by taking a holistic approach to their development.
As well as offering a performance psychology service to athletes, the most recent instalment of the Developing Champions workshop series concentrated on performance psychology.
Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about mental awareness, skills and strength, with Hockeyroo Georgia Wilson was on hand to provide advice and insight.
The Developing Champions workshop series is a partnership between the Western Australian Institute of Sport and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
The program is designed to assist the development of aspiring young athletes to gain personal development skills.
