Local business keeps academy on the road
As a regional organisation, the South West Academy of Sport has a lot of ground to cover. But thanks to a partnership with Bunbury Holden, the not-for-profit organisation will have no problems getting around.
The local car dealer is once again backing SWAS, providing sponsorship towards the academy’s new set of wheels.
SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion took possession of the latest model Holden Colorado last month and thanked Bunbury Holden for its support.
“It’s good to work with a company that supports our cause,” she said.
Dealer principal Gavin Billington said Bunbury Holden was a proud supporter of local sport, including the academy and one of its alumni, professional boxer Nathaniel ‘Cheeky’ May.
“It’s great to see local junior athletes come through and do well,” he said.
“Supporting the development of our future athletes – that’s what it’s about.”
Butlion said the purchase of the car from Bunbury Holden gave SWAS the opportunity to support a local business.
“For us, it’s working with local businesses and giving them the support,” she said.
“Gavin stands behind us. He is passionate about local people and local sport.
“It’s a win-win for both parties.”
