Announced in line-up for 2020 season

South West Academy of Sport netball players have once again been called up to represent the region in the West Australian Netball League as another season moves closer to getting underway.

A total of seven SWAS talents will provide the Eaton-based ECU SouWest Jets teams with a welcome shot of power on the court as the club shoots for a top-of-the-ladder finish this year.

Giselle Taylor, Brooke Gibson, Brooke Repacholi and Charlie Allen will play for the open team.

Meanwhile, Jessi Whitehead, Jasmine Nielsen and Abbey Hall will be part of the under-20 side.

The young guns are currently in training for the first match in the 2020 Gold Industry Group West Australian Netball League, which officially commences on Friday July 3.

The Jets are among eight WANL state league netball teams which will battle for supremacy during a full season fixture comprising 14 qualifying rounds and a finals season.

SWAS netball head coach Dale Nielsen said participating in the competition was a great way for the young sports women to gain valuable experience.

“One of the criteria for SWAS netball athletes is that they trial for state teams,” Nielsen said.

“And for them to make state teams, they need to play against the best players in the state.”
