Sports academy appoints soccer coach

27th November 2008

A 35-year association with soccer has helped prepare Busselton man Perry Krakowczyk for the role of South West Academy of Sport soccer coach.

Krakowczyk, a regional development officer with Football West, was appointed to the role last month and has since been finalising the high performance program and selecting players for the squad.

He said he was looking forward to the opportunity to develop the talents of gifted, young soccer players living in the South West region.

“It’s going to be an excellent program for the South West region,” Krakowczyk said.

“Previously, soccer players living in the region and competing at this level had to follow an extensive training program in Perth, but the academy means they will be able to train in Bunbury.

“The program will take participants to the next level of competition and serve as an incentive for other soccer players in the region who want to push through the ranks.

“It will also act as a positive extension of our junior Football West academy, which is already in full swing.”

Athletes for the academy soccer program are set to be named later this year.
