Academy names top achievers at annual dinner

The South West Academy of Sport shined the spotlight on its top performers at its annual awards dinner last week.

During the gala event at the All Seasons Sanctuary Golf Resort in Bunbury on Friday November 4, trophies were presented to the academy’s top achievers.

Margaret River surfing champion Creed McTaggart was named both Male Individual Athlete of the Year and the Sports Star of the Year in front of the academy’s biggest ever annual dinner crowd.

Other award winners included Louis Asser (Emerging Star Award), Scott Jones (Male Team Athlete of the Year Award), Keeley Allsop (Female Team Athlete of the Year Award), Shenae Peterson (Female Individual Athlete of the Year Award), Jessica Brindley (Community Achiever Award) and Christina Ladyman (Wally Foreman Award).

It was the academy’s third annual awards dinner.
