Bernice Butlion

Bernice Butlion is the chief executive of the South West Academy of Sport and oversees the talent development pathways of some the region’s most promising athletes.

Originally from South Africa where she was the inaugural manager of the Eastern Cape Academy of Sport, Bernice moved to Bunbury in late 2008 to become the South West Academy of Sport’s first chief executive.

She has a background in both high performance and community sports development including five years at local government level.

An athlete herself, Bernice has obtained provincial colours in athletics (800m and 1500m), swimming, cross-country, biathlon, basketball, road running and canoeing.
